The Role As an Aerospace Mission Systems & Weapons Integration Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the efficient, safe and effective conduct of specific evaluation, test and/or trial activities. This will typically encompass Air Platform, Mission Systems and OME Certification, Qualification, Performance, Operability and Safety within the role domains.

Day-to-day, you’ll provide specialist technical advice and consultation. Tasks will encompass the project lifecycle from requirements capture through to delivery as part of multidisciplinary teams. In response to a customer requirement, you will define a solution and deliver it in accordance with the associated project’s Technical Delivery Plan.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting hazard-based Evaluation and Testing of Avionics, Mission Systems, and Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives (OME) integration
  • Ensuring equipment and systems are safe for flight and fit for purpose
  • Undertaking a range of evaluations from single equipment or capability-related changes to a platform
  • Assessments of newly introduced aircraft (focus on fixed wing)
  • Assessments of mission systems and weapon capabilities
  • Delivering technical hazard-focused, risk-based reporting
Essential experience of the Aerospace Mission Systems & Weapons Integration Engineer:
  • Aerospace Mission Systems, Avionics and/or Weapons Integration Engineering
  • Working with different aircraft platforms
  • Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives (OME)
  • Working across diverse technical challenges, able to identify knowledge gaps and independently seek out learning opportunities
  • Ability to grow into new disciplines and contribute to emerging capability areas
Essential qualifications for the Aerospace Mission Systems & Weapons Integration Engineer:
  • Suitably qualified Aerospace, Aeronautical, Electronic or Systems Engineer through one or more of the following routes:
    • ONC, HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
    • Professionally registered Eng Tech, IEng, CEng, or working towards professional accreditation
    • Significant relevant industry experience gained through a time-served engineering career within the Aerospace Engineering domain, demonstrating equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies
    • Recognised training or qualifications in Systems Engineering, Airworthiness, Safety Engineering, Test & Evaluation, or Weapons Integration

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Lincolnshire site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Flexible working and compressed hours are available.
