Who will you be working with? Napier Turbocharger, a Wabtec Company, is looking for a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. We design, manufacture, and test industrial turbochargers for the power generation, marine, and rail traction industries.

How will you make a difference?Knowledge of modern machining and manufacturing processes, NC programming, ideally from a low-volume, high accuracy manufacturing environment e.g., Aerospace, Power Generation. Candidates must be highly motivated, be a good problem solver and be able to work both independently and in a team environment.
What will your typical day look like?- Lead and manage projects within Manufacturing taking responsibility for delivery, project planning, execution and cost.
- Creation and maintenance of supporting documentation to include Manufacturing Routings, Layouts and instructions.
- Define, perform and implement investigations into non-conformance through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Inspection activities including the creation of non-conformance reports, in process and final inspection protocols.
- Work cross functionally with different departments such as Design, Quality, Procurement and external suppliers.
- Define and procure jigs, fixtures, tooling, gauging and lifting equipment.
- Generate and implement cost reduction initiatives.
- NC programming of multi-axis Turning, Milling, Grinding and EDM machines.
- Programming of CMMs using PC-DMIS.
- Ideally you will be qualified to HNC level or above in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with having undergone relevant training as Manufacturing Technician/ Engineer
- Experience in a modern manufacturing facility with a good understanding of modern machining techniques, plus problem solving techniques.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Siemens NX (CAM) and Hypermill would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and processes.
- Computer/ software literate
