MAC Group Ltd is seeking a talented and proven Engineering Manager to join our team and lead onsite Engineering teams. Being a key interface to both customers and internal stakeholders, the role requires an intrinsic knowledge of groundworks engineering activities while being operationally and commercially aware.

The role requires a keen eye for detail and a deep motivation to help deliver projects both on time, on budget and to the highest quality.

Role Overview: As the Engineering Manager, you will be a key element in Engineering and Operational strategies and responsible for further developing the sustainable growth of the business.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management, (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) status preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Valid CSCS and ideally also SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), and First Aid at Work.
  • Strong knowledge of civil infrastructure design, construction, and project management.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Blue Beam, Project Management tools).
  • Significant experience of MS Office Suite. MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Project etc.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially aware with understanding of budgets, costs and contract negotiations.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Role Responsibilities

The Engineering Manager responsible for the technical leadership and project oversight of all the business projects. The role requires strategic thinking when managing site engineering teams, ensuring regulatory and customer compliance while overseeing all stages of the construction projects, from feasibility through to completion. The Engineering Manager must work closely with all internal stakeholders including, Commercial, Procurement, Quality and Project Management.

  • Oversee project resourcing, scheduling, and performance management.

Technical Oversight
  • Provide expert guidance on engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international engineering codes and standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, innovative technologies, and best practices.
