We are seeking experienced Health Care Support Workers to join the team on Castle Ward, Peter Hodgkinson Centre.

This is an exciting time to join LPFT as we continue our journey of service improvement.

Our staff support people in one of the most critical stages of their mental illness. Castle Ward is a 19‑bedded acute ward for female patients. To be successful in this role, you need to be self‑motivated, enthusiastic and empathetic.

You will need excellent communication skills, be resourceful and keen to contribute actively in patient care, as a key role in the team.

• Work within the policies, protocols and clinical procedures of Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Trust and promote competent working practice within an integrated multi‑disciplinary team.
• Liaise with nurses and carry out assigned duties as a member of the multi‑disciplinary mental health team.
• Be prepared to work on own initiative as necessary and report to the nurses.
• Promote equality for all patients and understand their health needs.
• Demonstrate awareness of service‑user and carer perspectives on the provision of treatment and continuing care.
• Participate regularly in clinical supervision sessions.
• Liaise with representatives from associated voluntary and statutory organisations and facilitate good communication processes.
• Attend in‑service training and other study/refresher days to meet individual, statutory and service needs.
• Participate in performance reviews.
• Work with service users to promote independence, maximizing daily living skills.
• Assist in maintaining general and specific patient observations under the supervision of registered nursing staff.
• Facilitate and participate in recreational and physical activities in the provision of health and social care to service users.
• Demonstrate understanding of the responsibilities in relation to patients’ property and valuables, respecting cultural values.
• Always act in a manner to promote and safeguard the interests and well‑being of patients.
