Job Overview
Path Links is an NHS Pathology Network responsible for delivering Mortuary services for both NHS Trusts in Lincolnshire with facilities at Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Lincoln, Grantham and Boston. The role requires working weekdays Monday to Friday for 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility to adjust start and finish times between 08:00 and 17:00 to enable cross‑site cover. Out‑of‑hours service support is also required.

- Supervise the receipt of bodies, ensuring accurate identification, registration, weighing, measuring and labelling before storage.
- Keep accurate records of property, valuables and cash that may accompany the deceased, and manage removal and safekeeping in line with Trust Policy.
- Enter deceased patient data onto the mortuary registration system.
- Attend to disinfection, cleaning and general maintenance of the mortuary and equipment.
- Prepare the deceased for viewing by relatives, observing cultural and religious beliefs and applying courtesy and consideration at all times.
- Facilitate the release of bodies to funeral directors in line with Mortuary SOPs.
- Deal with telephone enquiries from all service users.
- Maintain a secure environment and monitor access.
Ideal candidates will have a caring and compassionate nature and preferably have previous experience of dealing with the deceased and bereaved families. Candidates should have completed education up to GCSE level. A valid driver’s licence is essential.
