The Vales are recruiting a dynamic Deputy Ward Manager to join their 15‑bedged female high‑dependency rehabilitation inpatient unit at Discovery House.
Applicants must possess attitudes and values that reflect the excellent standards we are expecting within the Vales team. We provide treatment and interventions for women with severe and enduring mental ill‑health in a locked environment, supporting their recovery and social integration. The service is focused on independence and recovery, enabling service users to regain health and mental wellness before moving on to live as independently as possible in an open environment or their local communities.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership to the nursing team, caring for people with severe and enduring mental illness and complex trauma mental health disorders.
- Deliver clinical services that work within the policies, protocols and clinical procedures of Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Trust.
- Work as part of a team providing a user‑focused, accessible and responsive nursing service that is safe, supportive and competent for people who experience severe, enduring and complex trauma mental health problems.
- Assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care for those experiencing mental health needs, within agreed limitations.
- Provide management supervision to Band 5 & Band 3 nurses.
- Be directly involved in quality improvements and implementing processes.
- Complete audits and provide assurance.
- Undertake managerial duties in the absence of the Ward Manager.
- Support and cover other wards within the in‑patients setting when required.
- Work patterns may include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Registered Nurse in Mental Health or Learning Disability.
- Able to work a range of flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Experience in managing a high‑dependency inpatient setting is desirable.
- Strong leadership and team‑management skills.
