The Role
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you’ll provide person-centred emotional and practical support, helping individuals with mental health needs to live as independently, confidently and meaningfully as possible.
Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting daily routines and personal care where required
Encouraging independence, confidence and life skills
Supporting appointments, activities and community access
Helping individuals enjoy hobbies, interests and social activities
Building positive and trusting relationships
Working alongside families, healthcare professionals and other support services
Responding calmly and professionally to challenging situations
Promoting dignity, choice, privacy, respect and wellbeing at all times
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for people who are compassionate, empathetic, patient and non-judgemental, with the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm under pressure.
You’ll need to be reliable, adaptable and able to work both independently and as part of a team, with a genuine commitment to helping people achieve their goals.
Previous experience in mental health, healthcare, social care or supported living is desirable but not essential — full training can be provided for the right candidates.
A driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable due to the geographical nature of the role, with mileage paid.
