**** Join Our Innovative Specialist Service
** We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic
** Assistant Psychologist
** to join our developing specialist service supporting adults with
** Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
** and
** Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)**. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team delivering psychologically informed rehabilitation, neurobehavioural support, and person-centred care.

The successful candidate will support the Clinical Psychologist and wider MDT in delivering assessment, intervention, rehabilitation programmes, and therapeutic group work designed to improve psychological wellbeing, functional outcomes, independence, and quality of life.
** Key Responsbilities:
*** Support the delivery of psychological assessments and interventions under supervision.
* Facilitate and co-facilitate therapeutic and psycho educational groups for individuals with FND and ABI.
* Assist in developing group programmes focusing on:
* Emotional regulation  + Coping and adjustment following injury or diagnosis  + Anxiety and stress management  + Fatigue management  + Cognitive rehabilitation strategies  + Mindfulness and wellbeing  + Social skills and confidence building
* Monitor and record service user progress and behavioural observations.
* Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and outcome measurement.
* Support positive behaviour approaches and psychologically informed care planning.
* Assist with clinical audits, service evaluation, research projects, and data collection.
* Work collaboratively with nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and other professionals.
** Essential

Skills and Experience:

*** Degree in Psychology (minimum 2:1) recognised by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
* Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health, neurological, rehabilitation, or complex care needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to establish therapeutic relationships with individuals who may present with cognitive, emotional, behavioural, or communication difficulties.
* Strong organisational, report-writing, and administrative skills.
* Understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed practice.
* Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
** Desirable

Skills and Experience:

*** Previous experience supporting individuals with ABI, neurological conditions, FND, or rehabilitation services.
* Experience facilitating or co-facilitating therapeutic groups.
* Knowledge of neuropsychology, neurorehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, or behavioural interventions.
* Understanding of psychological models relevant to FND, including biopsychosocial and formulation-based approaches.
* Experience collecting and analysing outcome measures and service evaluation data.
* Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and psychologically informed care approaches.
