About the RoleAs an HR Case Officer, you will play a vital role in providing proactive and professional HR advice to departments across the Force. Your expertise will ensure timely progression of employment matters while adhering to policies and procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact within the public service sector!
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert HR advice to Senior Leadership Teams and line managers on various HR-related matters.
- Develop strong working relationships with operational and strategic Line Managers.
- Guide managers on terms and conditions of employment, related policies, and best practices.
- Assist managers in preparing formal correspondence.
- Deliver proactive HR advisory services on issues such as grievance, capability, flexible working requests, discipline, and absence management.
- Support formal investigations and hearings, ensuring compliance with employment legislation.
- Maintain comprehensive case management records, updating systems, note taking, and preparing formal letters.
- Collaborate with the wider HR team on various tasks as needed.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a generalist HR role.
- To pass Police Vetting, the criteria for this is that you have resided within the UK continuously for at least 5 years at the time of application.
- Ability to advise and support managers in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Experience in handling discipline, grievance, capability issues, attendance management, and recruitment.
- Strong influencing and negotiating skills, with a knack for promoting positive change.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
- Sound understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
- Familiarity with the police service and related regulations is a plus!
- You will be required to travel to various police stations and establishments.
- The role requires a commitment to the Force Diversity strategy and adherence to health and safety regulations.
