Behind our success are great people, strong customer relationships and a commitment to continuous improvement. We're now looking for an experienced Buyer to join our Procurement team and help shape the future of our supply chain.
The RoleAs a Buyer, you'll play a key role in sourcing goods and services from both UK and international suppliers, ensuring we achieve the best balance of quality, cost and delivery.
Working closely with Engineering, Quality and New Product Development teams, you'll negotiate commercial agreements, develop category strategies and build strong supplier partnerships that support our business objectives.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys strategic procurement, supplier development and making a tangible impact on business performance.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
What You'll Be Doing- Negotiate competitive supply agreements and deliver sustainable cost savings.
- Develop and implement category strategies to maximise value and reduce supply chain risk.
- Source suppliers and components for new product development projects.
- Manage supplier tender processes from initial enquiry through to commercial agreement.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers while monitoring performance across cost, quality, delivery and service.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost avoidance.
- Maintain accurate purchasing data including pricing, lead times and minimum order quantities.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Quality and other departments to ensure commercially viable product solutions.
- Assess and onboard new suppliers, including site visits and supplier evaluations where appropriate.
- Stay informed on market trends, manufacturing technologies and new sourcing opportunities through supplier engagement and industry exhibitions.
- Identify and manage supply chain risks, including single-source dependency, geopolitical exposure and material availability.
You’ll have experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment and be confident managing supplier relationships and commercial negotiations.
You’ll also bring:
- Experience in purchasing raw materials and managing supplier contracts.
- Strong category management experience.
- Excellent negotiation and commercial skills.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and technical products.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to supplier sites in the UK and overseas when required.
- Experience with in the commercial catering equipment or wider hospitality industry.
- CIPS, NVQ or another recognised purchasing or business qualification.
