This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of the Council’s Climate Change Agenda for Lincoln, playing a central role in delivering the Council’svision to become carbon neutral by 2030, helping to drive meaningful climate action and create positive change for people across Lincoln.

You’ll develop, implement, co-ordinate and champion the Council’s policies, strategy and action plan for addressing the impact of climate change in Lincoln, working collaboratively across council services and with partners, communities and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:
  • To develop, implement, co-ordinate and champion the Council’s policies, strategy and action plan for addressing the impact of climate change on Lincoln.
  • Pro-actively make appropriate linkages and act as a ‘brand ambassador’ to identify new climate change opportunities for the Council and partners.
  • Engage with key stakeholders and partners to deliver the action plan.
  • Direct multi-disciplinary professional teams to co-ordinate, implement and deliver allocated projects and ensure key project milestones are met.
  • Support work to identify and reduce Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions for the Council.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
  • Experience of developing, leading and managing effective teams.
  • Experience of managing contracts, budgets and projects.
  • A solution-focused approach.
  • A strategic focus and understanding alongside practical delivery.
  • Experience of writing and reviewing climate related policies.
  • Experience of partnership working and delivery.
  • Confidential, diplomatic and professional approaches.
