Director of Nature Recovery

£50k - £70k, Lincolnshire

Our client is seeking an exceptional leader to head a pioneering nature recovery programme that integrates restoration, research, education, wellbeing and sustainable tourism.

You will lead the development of a 700+ hectare estate, enabling natural processes to return while guiding restoration through interventions such as wetland creation, wood pasture establishment, species-rich grassland and conservation grazing.

The Role

Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across the estate, delivering its core strategy, education and tourism initiatives, and Landscape Recovery programme.

As the public face of the organisation, you'll build partnerships across conservation, research, land management and rural enterprise, working closely with the Senior Management Team to support wider business growth.

About You

You will bring:

  • Proven leadership in conservation, land management or environmental enterprise
  • Experience delivering estate or landscape-scale projects
  • A strong track record in securing funding or investment
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and engaging diverse stakeholders

A solid understanding of UK ecology, natural processes, soil and water systems is essential, alongside knowledge of:

  • Rewilding, habitat restoration and conservation grazing
  • Agricultural compliance
  • Environmental funding (e.g. Countryside Stewardship, Biodiversity Net Gain, Carbon Codes, private investment)

If you have strong leadership, communication and commercial awareness, are able to build long-lasting partnerships, are adept at stakeholder engagement and can juggle priorities effortlessly via programme and project management skills, this could be the role for you.

Additional skills such as GIS, ecological monitoring, or digital storytelling are advantageous.
