A Snapshot of Your DayAs a Sheet Metal Worker at Siemens Energy's Ruston Works facility in Lincoln, you will play a key role in the manufacture of precision components used within our Small Gas Turbine product range. Working as part of a skilled manufacturing team, you will fabricate and weld nickel alloy components to exacting standards, using specialist jigs, tooling, and engineering drawings to deliver high-quality products that support our global customer base.
This is a hands‑on role where quality, precision, and teamwork are critical. You will work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure components are manufactured safely, efficiently, and to specification.
- Fabricate and weld nickel alloy components used within Small Gas Turbine products.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing instructions to determine fabrication requirements.
- Carry out seam welding and associated fabrication activities to produce precision‑engineered components.
- Inspect completed parts visually and dimensionally to ensure compliance with manufacturing specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and report manufacturing issues, supporting problem‑solving and continuous improvement activities.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and delivery performance.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with company procedures and EHS requirements.
- Work a shift pattern to support continuous production and customer delivery requirements.
- A recognised Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, Technical Certificate, or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication and welding within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with nickel alloy materials such as Inconel, Hastelloy, Nimonic, or similar materials would be highly advantageous.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Basic computer skills to support documentation and reporting requirements.
