Join our team as a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist at Ruston Works in Lincoln! In this role, you will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. Collaborating closely with production and engineering teams, you will ensure the highest quality standards are met. HowYou’ll Make An Impact
- Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools such as lathes, horizontal borers, and grinders to produce precision parts.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications to determine machining operations effectively.
- Measure and visually inspect completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to manufacturing documentation.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety procedures.
- Document and report production data, including quantities, dimensions, and any deviations from specifications, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
- Ideally, you have completed a recognized full level 3 apprenticeship; candidates with an NVQ level 3 or technical certificate in a relevant engineering field will also be considered.
- Proven experience as a machinist in a manufacturing environment, showcasing your technical skills.
- Proficiency in operating machine tools such as lathes, horizontal borers, and grinders, demonstrating your hands‑on expertise.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications, allowing you to execute tasks with precision.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements, ensuring the highest quality output.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams, fostering a positive work environment.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes, enabling efficient tracking of production data.
