Apply your engineering degree to large-scale industrial biotechnology.
If you hold a degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or a process-driven Food Science discipline, you want a career focused on unit operations, fluid dynamics, and mass transfer—not writing dietary menu plans or staring at spreadsheets in a corporate office.
Welcome to Muntons.
We are a 100-year-old global powerhouse supplying high-quality malted ingredients to the world's biggest food and drink brands. Operating a world class, automated facility in Stowmarket, we are looking for a technically minded graduate to join our Liquid Malted Ingredients team as an Assistant Technical Brewer.
Why Join Muntons?
- Heavy Industrial Tech: Gain hands-on exposure to massive liquid processing pipelines, advanced thermal automation, heat exchangers, and evaporation plants.
- Structured Growth: Benefit from a clear graduate mentoring structure and support for professional certifications (including funded technical modules).
- True Sustainability: Work for an eco-forward business already more than halfway towards its net-zero carbon target by 2050.
- The Package: Competitive salary (reviewed annually), profit-based bonus, 5% employer pension, Health Cash Plan, life assurance, and flexible working options.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Process Optimization: Assist in monitoring and optimizing liquid extract processing to improve yield, efficiency, and throughput.
- Data & Analysis: Carry out routine sampling, fluid/lab analysis, and track technical trial data.
- Continuous Improvement (CI): Drive structured problem-solving initiatives relating to factory safety, GMP, quality, and efficiency.
- Documentation: Manage and update SOPs, technical records, and cross-functional project data.
What We’re Looking For:
- A degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Food Science/Technology (focused on manufacturing/processing, not nutrition).
- Sharp data skills (Excel, Word) and a highly organized, analytical mindset.
- An eagerness to learn automated, large-scale plant systems.
- Desirable: Prior placement or work experience in a chemical plant, dairy, or liquid food manufacturing facility; knowledge of HACCP/GMP.
To Apply: If you are ready to kickstart a long-term technical career in a thriving, historic, yet forward-thinking global industry, we want to hear from you.
