Overview

CNC Machinist – Join our team as a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist, where you will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. You will collaborate closely with production and engineering teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC machinery, ensuring precision in every part produced.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications to determine machining operations effectively.
  • Measure and visually inspect completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to manufacturing documentation.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to guarantee optimal performance and longevity.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to health and safety procedures to promote a safe working environment.
  • Document and report production data, including quantities, dimensions, and any deviations from specifications, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
What You Bring
  • Ideally, you have completed a recognized full level 3 apprenticeship; candidates with an NVQ level 3 or technical certificate in a relevant engineering field will also be considered.
  • Proven experience as a CNC machinist in a manufacturing environment, showcasing your technical skills.
  • Proficiency in operating machine tools such as lathes, borers, and grinders, demonstrating your hands-on expertise.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required, adapting to the needs of the production schedule.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and specifications, allowing you to execute tasks with precision.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements, ensuring the highest quality output.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes, enabling efficient tracking of production data.
  • A proactive outlook towards work and continuous improvement, always seeking ways to enhance processes and outcomes.
