Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Following business growth and a lot of investment over the past couple of years, we are looking to recruit a permanent Maintenance Fitter to join a market leading Manufacturing facility with over 100 years in industry.
You’ll become part of a well-structured and supportive maintenance team, with the tools, resources and backing needed to perform at your best.
You must be flexible to work 12-hour shifts / 48 hour working week, covering days and nights Monday
- Friday. More information on this will be given at interview.
In return for your Maintenance skills and experience, we offer for the Maintenance Fitter:
- Salary guideline between £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.

Along with a minimum Level 2 training in Mechanical Maintenance, we require previous background experience within a heavy manufacturing facility. Some experience with fixing heavy plant and machinery, for example, quarries, farming machinery, power stations, waste management etc will be beneficial. You will carry out various mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair activities on our production machinery.
Some duties for the Maintenance Fitter role will involve:
- Carrying out maintenance, troubleshooting and repair duties across the site
- Providing leadership in maintaining plant production capacity
- Continuous improvement activities increasing plant reliability
- Assisting in the continuous improvement of equipment, maximisation of production, efficiency, improving safety and minimising downtime
The role of Maintenance Fitter is commutable from Swadlincote, Repton, Burton on Trent and Barton under Needwood.
