An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Future4
Me team in Lincolnshire as a Youth and Community Development Worker, working with young people who may need support in making a positive transition to adulthood. The team currently have one permanent, part time Youth and Community Development Worker post in Lincoln.
Please note this is a part‑time vacancy (18.5 hours per week) and the salary will be pro rata for hours worked.
The 18.5 hours are split over at least 3 different days, and the work pattern changes in term time and school holidays. During term times, there are at least 2 late evenings (working up until 9pm) per week. Thursday evenings are mandatory as this is when we run our ‘core’ youth clubs. In school holidays; we run holiday activities for 4 weeks in the summer, 1 week at Christmas and 2 weeks at Easter – typically holiday activities take place in the daytimes.
Due to recent changes in immigration law in the UK we are unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the requirements.
About You:
Are you able to build relationships quickly and effectively with young people? Do you have a calming influence and able to reassure and support young people? Are you confident working with groups of teenagers? Do you have an understanding of the current societal trends and challenges that impact young people? Do you want a role where you can shape and assist with youth service development?
We are looking for a highly motivated person to work with individuals and groups of teenagers to help them identify their own needs and plan a positive way forward. You will be able to communicate, inspire and work restoratively with a range of people. You will be able to work on your own and as part of a team. Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of routine tasks, documents and reports in meeting service goals is also key to the success of the role.
A full UK driving license and access to a car are essential for this role as travel around the county is required. Insurance for business use on your vehicle is also required.
