Make a real difference to the people in our communities and help shape the future of our vital services.
We are looking for a customer-focused and organised Grants & Loans Officer to join our Environmental Health & Housing team on a full-time permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to support residents across North East Lincolnshire to access financial assistance that enables them to live safely, independently and comfortably in their own homes, while making a real difference to some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
What will your day look like?
As a Grants & Loans Officer, you will be responsible for managing home improvement grants and loans from initial enquiry through to completion. You'll undertake home visits, assess housing conditions and applicants' needs, carry out financial assessments, and identify the most appropriate funding solutions available.
Working closely with residents, contractors, healthcare professionals and partner agencies, you will oversee improvement works, monitor quality and value for money, ensure compliance with legislation and safeguarding requirements, and maintain accurate records throughout the process. You will also help promote available funding schemes, develop positive stakeholder relationships and contribute to the continuous improvement of the service.
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for someone with experience of working directly with customers, managing casework and coordinating projects or services that support vulnerable people.
You will have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of customer service. Knowledge of housing legislation, housing adaptations, grants, loans or similar support services would be advantageous, alongside experience of financial assessments, contractor management and property inspections.
Most importantly, you'll be an effective communicator who can build positive relationships, handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism, and work collaboratively with a wide range of partners and stakeholders.
Why join us?
This is a rewarding opportunity to help residents remain safe and independent in their own homes while supporting wider health and wellbeing outcomes across North East Lincolnshire.
In return, you'll enjoy a varied role where every case presents a different challenge, opportunities for professional development and training, flexible and agile working arrangements, and the support of an experienced and committed team. You'll be joining an organisation that values integrity, collaboration and continuous improvement, and where your work will have a direct and meaningful impact on local communities.
The salary is subject to a pending pay award and will be revised accordingly once the award has been implemented.
