Designer – Continua Interiors

Responsibilities- Conduct furniture needs analysis to define design requirements.
- Develop innovative solutions that add value and enhance product application techniques.
- Prepare and run design meetings with industry partners and end users.
- Generate custom products, conduct COM testing, and produce shop and submittal drawings.
- Create final furniture specifications and pricing.
- Prepare labor quotes and installation drawing packages.
- Coordinate with AV, plumbing, data, and electrical vendors for seamless integration.
- Conduct site visits and field verifications to ensure accurate assessments.
- Perform thorough spec checks and maintain high-quality standards.
- Organize and document email communications, file structures, and drawings.
- Convey ideas through detailed drawings and comprehensive spec books.
- Mentor other designers and support their professional growth.
- Continuously learn and enhance product and industry knowledge.
- Maintain consistent client design standards.
- Balance workload capacity and project complexity for successful outcomes.
- Cross‑train on vertical markets to expand expertise.
- 3+ years of industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design or equivalent.
- Local travel for on‑site assessments and client meetings.
- Strong knowledge of interior commercial construction, architecture, design, real estate, and contract furnishings.
- In‑depth product knowledge, including Herman Miller and Knoll.
- Experience presenting to clients, preferably alongside salespeople.
- Furniture dealership experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Skills translating design concepts into accurate drawings and specifications.
- Understanding of building system interfaces with furniture.
- Prioritization and project management skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, CET, CAP, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, and commercial furniture industry software.
- Relevant industry certifications.
- Vendor relationship building and partnership skills.
- Confidence and independence in design progress with minimal guidance.
Base salary range: $53,000 – $71,500 (location dependent). Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, critical illness, HSA/FSA options, paid time off, parental leave, and 401(k) match (50% of 1% up to 4%).
