Responsible to maintain the day-to-day ordering, planning and expediting of materials and supplies.
Duties and Responsibilities- Monitor and adjust material master data settings for all parts to ensure correct Safety Stock, supplier contact information, and other required fields.
- Determine items to be ordered, generate purchase orders, and follow up on system‑proposed changes.
- Continuously optimize material master data and settings to maximize efficiency in order acknowledgement, order production, inventory management, and shipping to meet customer demands.
- Monitor, analyze, and improve key performance indicators for planning (e.g., delivery performance, inventory, costs).
- Lead continuous improvement efforts in information flow between customer, sales, and supplying plants, applying lean principles to improve material supply chain and service levels.
- Support new product introductions, phase‑ins/phase‑outs, and engineering/revision changes with sales, production, and supplying plants to meet customer requirements while minimizing obsolescence risk.
- Initiate and manage supplier escalations to resolve supply chain issues.
- Conduct data analysis to uncover improvement opportunities and determine root causes of supply chain issues.
- Perform other essential duties as assigned.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements- Lift and move a minimum of 5 pounds without assistance.
This role operates in a professional office environment. The employee may occasionally be exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. Noise levels range from quiet to moderate to loud.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or related discipline, or 5 years’ experience in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Capacity Planning, Production Planning, Purchasing, or related field.
- Proficiency with MS Office.
- Experience using or programming IT systems used in logistics (e.g., ERP systems such as SAP, database software like Excel or Power BI).
- Strong customer‑focused communication skills across face‑to‑face, phone, email, Teams.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, make decisions, and take calculated risks.
- Willingness to work outside standard office hours on short notice.
