The facility employs just under 400 full‑time associates in a 5‑shift operation, which encompasses 235,000 sq ft. along with 12,000 SKUs. ISO certified, our associates engage in BPS, CIP and 5S. By choice, we are committed to a diverse workforce – EOE/Protected Veteran/Disabled.
The Shift Coordinator is responsible for all associates in a specific production area during the specified shift. This person must ensure workstation coverage for absenteeism and move workforce to applicable positions based on production needs and the qualification matrix. Must have great interpersonal skills and a desire to lead others. Responsible for gaining and maintaining general knowledge of machines throughout the Value Stream - troubleshooting, making adjustments, setting up parameters, etc.
You are responsible for completing required training measures as they are needed. You must maintain the appropriate BPS and 6S standards and follow safety procedures. You must be open and willing to lead and assist others throughout the department. You must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours a day and also have excellent use of your hands.
Include
- Manage and track vacation requests of associates. Approve or reject vacation requests to ensure production requirements are met according to local policy.
- Communicate overtime announcement and create/coordinate the overtime schedule.
- Update and track the daily exception report for the time analyst.
- Post weekly absence occurrence report on bulletin board in Value Stream.
- Manage qualification process and matrix.
- Coordinate the weekly upgrade form for payroll and send copy of signed qualification forms and weekly upgrade file to the HR partner.
- Reinforce all escalation processes pertaining to pay‑related topics.
- Support with investigation and provide performance input to the supervisor.
- Run and coordinate the shop floor based on production needs.
- Oversee the actions of other associates on the shift.
- Guide and direct other associates as needed.
- Handle and resolve issues as they arise – upscale issues to management when necessary.
- Use SAP to look up materials.
- Able to work successfully with a team
- High level of integrity (doing the right thing when no one is looking)
- Excellent communication skills with associates and management
- Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly
- General math skills
- Ability to multitask
- Good standing in the following areas: attendance, reliability, performance
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited school
