Role

Summary

Position can be based in Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee or Alabama. Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a Regional Operations Specialist I with 5+ years of Operations or equivalent industry experience in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our team.

The Regional Operations Specialist I will ensure operations compliance through implementation and support of programs, initiatives, and audits. This position will also support incident investigations, operations training, and operating manuals development. Additionally, the role will focus on operations performance by monitoring, investigating, and establishing guidance for product inventory management, support for the Terminal Automation System, and serving as a liaison between Buckeye and our customers.

Responsibilities

& Essential Functions
  • Support operations in product movement, maintenance, and all aspects of safe facility operation. Serve as the primary point of escalation for operations–related issues that cannot be resolved at the local level and provide actionable suggestions for improvements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for implementation of program initiatives at assigned locations, providing support, audit, inspection, and status updates.
  • Perform internal audits, assessments, and inspections to support corporate program goals. Conduct work procedure reviews and other operational audits to ensure adherence to published procedures.
  • Provide problem‑solving expertise and assist operations in overcoming inefficiencies. Maintain awareness of maintenance priorities and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Support inventory control by ensuring proper use of computer inventory control systems and participation in inventory issue investigations and volumetric accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety directives, operating procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Respond to terminal, pipeline, rail, and marine emergencies; participate in annual emergency response training drills and support integration and command center events during emergencies.
  • Assist in compiling annual project lists and costs for budget purposes at each assigned facility.
  • Assist in completion of Incident Investigations and support all operations personnel within the region.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of terminal or pipeline business operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of Operations or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
  • Solid understanding of terminal or pipeline operations.
  • General knowledge or experience in the petroleum industry required.
  • Experience managing operations is helpful.
  • Up to 75% travel may be required.
Certificates & Licenses
  • Position is subject to regulations from the Transportation Security Administration, United States Coast Guard, Federal Railroad Administration, and the Department of Transportation.
