Job DescriptionWe are seeking licensed Professional Engineers (PE) in New Jersey to provide expert review and signoff on fire escape inspection reports in compliance with New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (NJ DCA) requirements, including Formal Technical Opinion-3 (FTO-3) standards. Our company conducts high-volume fire escape inspections across the state, and we need engineers to collaborate with our inspection teams to ensure safety and regulatory adherence.
Responsibilities- Review detailed fire escape inspection reports prepared by field inspectors, including checklists, photographs, and notes.
- Provide professional comments and recommendations based on the inspector's findings.
- Sign off on reports to certify compliance with NJ DCA regulations and applicable fire safety codes.
- Ensure all documentation meets state standards for submission to the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
Field inspectors will conduct on-site inspections using a standardized checklist, capturing images and identifying any deficiencies or safety concerns. Reports will be submitted to you electronically for review. You will assess the findings, add comments if necessary, and provide your professional engineer signoff.
Requirements- Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of New Jersey.
- Familiarity with NJ DCA fire escape inspection requirements (e.g., N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.10, FTO-3) and relevant codes (e.g., NFPA 101, IBC).
- Experience in structural engineering or fire safety assessments preferred.
- Ability to efficiently review and sign off on reports in a high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to public safety.
