Lead Teacher​/Director Designee

Job Description

A Child's Place of Lindenhurst is a licensed childcare center seeking a Director Qualified Lead Teacher to support our Pre‑K and School Age classrooms.

Base pay range: $19.00/hr – $21.00/hr
. Current compensation: $20 – $23/hour
, based on education and experience.

Required shift:
Monday – Friday, rotating shift.

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; use our parent communication app efficiently.
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Responsible for the safety and well‑being of each child, responding to their emotional needs, and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
• Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct bi‑annual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.

• Director qualification through an Associate or Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education and the ability to pass all background checks.
• Previous childcare experience – a plus.
