Doug Smith Kia, a leading automotive dealership in Lindon, Utah, seeks a motivated and energetic Used Vehicle Service Technician to join our team. This is a high-volume position where turnaround time is crucial. As a Used Vehicle Service Technician, your role will be essential in reconditioning and preserving our extensive inventory of used vehicles. This position is an excellent opportunity for the right tech to thrive in a growing and dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and detailed estimates for Used Car reconditioning, ensuring transparency and clear communication with customers
- Document all work performed clearly and accurately to maintain proper record-keeping and facilitate effective communication
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc., utilizing your expertise and technical skills
- Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment for comprehensive and accurate evaluations
- Communicate directly with Service Advisors to ensure efficient workflow and to keep Used Car Managers informed of any needed service or repairs
- Provide estimates of time needed for additional repairs to maintain transparency and manage customer expectations
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications to ensure quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
Requirements:
- Must be a motivated and proficient diagnostician with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Prior experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles from multiple brands, demonstrating versatility and knowledge in automotive repair
- Maintain Kia training certification as directed, keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in Kia vehicles
- Maintain a clean and efficient work area, ensuring safety and organization in the workplace
- Emissions certification preferred, showcasing a commitment to environmentally responsible practices
- Must have a good driving record and be 18 years of age or older
