• Attends Individual Education Program meetings with assigned student(s) for input into evaluation of progress and/or implementing/modifying objectives through the conversion of conversation to ASL.
• Provides sign-to-voice for hearing impaired student(s) with limited speech to facilitate classroom instruction.
• Adapts classroom work under the direction of the teacher to support and reinforce lesson plans for assigned students.
• Assesses classroom setups for hearing impaired students (noise level, visibility) to facilitate learning.
• Attends in-service meetings to upgrade skills relevant to deaf or hard of hearing students.
• Provides supervision-related first aid and assistance to medically fragile children as required.
• Interprets subject-specific tests and assessments under guidance to evaluate language ability and proficiency.
• Monitors student activities to ensure safety and welfare.
• Provides tutoring to hearing impaired students under teacher supervision to support academic success.
• Provides ASL interpretation for group meetings to aid content understanding for hearing impaired participants.
• Tutors students (individual or small groups) to implement remediation goals and support language development.
