- Assists Physical Facilities Director in planning and organizing maintenance work to ensure timely completion within specifications.
- Communicates with administrators, personnel and outside organizations to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and exchange information.
- Conducts on-site job inspections to monitor progress and approve completed projects, ensuring efficiency and compliance with plans, codes and specifications.
- Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents, files and records to provide up-to-date information and historical reference per administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
- Participates in meetings, workshops and seminars with principals, city personnel, Physical Facilities Supervisor, department leads, etc. to coordinate building management activities, resolve issues and gather required information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
- Performs personnel administrative functions (e.g., hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, disciplining) to maintain adequate staffing, enhance productivity and achieve department program outcomes.
- Prepares written materials (e.g., job cost estimates, reports, work schedules, budget allocations) to ensure district objectives are achieved within budget, time frames and regulatory requirements.
- Recommends policies, procedures and actions related to repair, maintenance and remodeling projects for informed decision-making within the district maintenance program.
- Responds to emergency situations during and after work hours to address immediate safety concerns.
- Minimum 2 years experience in K-12/Commercial Building maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
