The Role

We are seeking a well experienced Lead Encapsulation Operator who will be responsible for executing the full encapsulation process from setup through finished product. This position requires strong technical knowledge of encapsulation equipment and the proven ability to maintain precision in capsule weight, closure, and quality under demanding production schedules.

In addition to machine operation, the Lead Encapsulation Operator takes on supervisory responsibilities, including assigning tasks, ensuring compliance, adherence to company procedures and mentoring less experienced operators. The ideal candidate combines technical ability with supervisory skills to ensure Factory6’s encapsulation operations run with maximum efficiency, safety, and consistency.

Responsibilities

Machine Operation & Production

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate encapsulation machines, polishers, and inspection equipment.
  • Monitor capsule production for weight accuracy, closure integrity, and consistency.
  • Conduct in-process quality checks (weights, dimensions, inspections).
  • Perform machine changeovers and cleaning between batches.
  • Adjust machine settings to maintain product quality and resolve deviations.

Quality & Compliance

  • Follow and maintain compliance with GMP standards, company SOP and Compliance.
  • Document production activities, equipment use, and cleaning logs accurately.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Perform first-line maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and light calibration of machines.
  • Troubleshoot issues such as weight variation, capsule misalignment, or sealing defects.
  • Escalate larger mechanical concerns to supervisors or maintenance staff.
  • Follow safe practices, including lockout/tagout protocols.

Shift Readiness & Organization

  • Prepare work areas before each shift by cleaning equipment, organizing tools, and staging materials.
  • Leave work spaces and machines ready for the next shift, free of residue and waste.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient production area.
  • Partner with supervisors, QA, and fellow operators to achieve production goals.
  • Communicate clearly regarding issues, product variations, or safety concerns.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Supervisory & Training Duties

  • Assign daily tasks and monitor operator performance.
  • Verify operator compliance, adherence to SOP and quality control documentation and inspections.
  • Train and mentor new operators on equipment setup, troubleshooting, and GMP practices.
  • Share best practices to improve consistency, reduce downtime, and enhance quality.
Qualifications
  • 4–6 years of encapsulation or machine operation experience.
  • Supervisory or training experience required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
  • Solid knowledge of cGMP and safety protocols.
  • Math proficiency for weights and batch adjustments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, bend, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Experience in nutraceutical or pharmaceutical capsule production (preferred).
  • Experience with encapsulation equipment such as LFA and TES machines (other equipment experience considered a plus).
Shift & Work Schedule
  • Full-Time, Monday–Thursday
  • Hours:

    6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Starting rate of $22.00 per hour
