Water and Wastewater Plant Operator

Step into a full-time role as a Water and Wastewater Plant Operator in the City of Kawartha Lakes. Ensure compliance and quality in two critical public services.
Reporting to the Supervisor, this role requires 40 hours a week and demands readiness to handle rotational on-call shifts. Your tasks will include maintenance of both water distribution and wastewater collection systems, guaranteeing safety and adherence to environmental regulations. You will play a crucial part in customer inquiries and the management of water quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and monitor treatment facility equipment
• Inspect and maintain distribution and wastewater systems
• Analyze water quality through flushing and sampling
• Respond to service leaks and customer complaints
• Maintain compliance and accurate records as needed
Requirements:
• Post-secondary diploma in Environmental Studies or a similar field
• Minimum three years of relevant operational experience
• Class III and IV certifications in water systems preferred
• Familiarity with SCADA/PLC and data management
• Valid Ontario Class G and DZ Driver’s Licences
