Reporting to the President the Director of Sale & Marketing is responsible for all sales and marketing activities required to meet sales & growth goals while complying with all IATF 16949 requirements. Act as integral part of the senior management team including taking part in setting company strategy and direction as well as attending the monthly QOS management meetings. Develop, direct and implement strategies to allow our client to diversify from the current 100% focus on the OEM automotive industry.

It began in 1972 and has since grown into a leading supplier of custom engineered and plastic molded automotive components and assemblies.

  • Our client takes pride in the skill and ability of their staff to design, develop and manufacture leading-edge products for the automotive industry.
  • Our client specializes in functional and decorative molded plastic parts and assemblies. Key products include interior and exterior door handle systems, speaker and switch assemblies, 2-shot moulding, reinforcement brackets, and decorative trim assemblies.
  • Our client provides product design / CAE, prototype, validation testing, production, and program management services.
Responsibilities
  • Primary focus is to take on all responsibilities for overseeing sales and marketing activities:
  • Develop and oversee sales team to meet growth requirements and to exceed customer expectations
  • Hands on Customer Interface – providing commercial guidance, quoting new work, landing new contracts, resolving commercial disputes.
  • Provide senior management with latest market and competitor information
  • Provide senior management with customer feedback on our performance
  • Comply with and improve all IATF 16949 sales processes
  • Secondary focus is to concentrate on investigating, identifying, developing and winning new sales avenues for our client (other than current 100% automotive business). Identify products that our client can launch using design and development capabilities and manufacture using current production equipment, current supply base and current secondary outside processes.
  • Provide future year sales forecasts and projections
  • Act as account manager and develop strong customer relationships on key customer accounts
  • Ensure all relevant information pertaining to assigned accounts is forwarded and acted on by required departments
  • Meet or exceed the annual sales & marketing goals
  • New product quotations and technical discussions
  • Develop strong customer relationships through direct contact
What you will bring:
  • Minimum of Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business or related discipline
  • Minimum eight years industry sales experience with at least three years acting as member of senior management team
  • Industry product sales and interface with large industrial customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Product Design, APQP, launch and manufacturing experience preferred
Objectives:
  • Sales are currently 100% automotive production
  • Our client has booked business to maintain their current sales level for 2026
  • Their sales objective is for $10 - $15 million in new annual sales every year to replace ending car programs and provide nominal business growth of 5% to 15% per year
  • Current machine capacity is running at 65 - 70%. This should be increased to 85% at which time additional machines will be considered
  • Our client is launching a new medical product and is looking to expand in this field and as well they are exploring the defense sector
  • A further objective is to land new profitable non-automotive sales to achieve a minimum 20 - 30% of sales being non-automotive within 5 years (2031)
  • Managerial growth exists for the right candidate based on performance
