Water Treatment Plant Operator

Become a key player in the City of Kawartha Lakes as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. This temporary full-time role offers the chance to manage infrastructure and ensure compliance with legislation.
As a Plant Operator, you will work within Public Works, focusing on water distribution, wastewater collection, and treatment systems. Your responsibilities will involve maintaining infrastructure, ensuring water quality, and responding to customer inquiries. This role requires availability for on-call shifts in various city locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain water distribution infrastructure

• Perform repairs and installations of water systems

• Monitor water quality through flushing and sampling

• Respond quickly to water-related service inquiries

• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and procedures
Requirements:

• Post-secondary diploma in Environmental Studies or related field

• Minimum three years as a water treatment operator

• Valid Class III and IV certifications required

• Experience with SCADA/PLC systems

• Ability to read water construction plans
