Position: Plant Operator for Water Systems
Join the City of Kawartha Lakes as a Plant Operator focusing on water systems. This temporary full-time position involves compliance oversight of water distribution and wastewater management.

In this role, you will ensure effective operation of water distribution infrastructure and wastewater treatment systems. Collaborating with your supervisor, you will conduct regular inspections, maintenance work, and respond to community water-related issues efficiently. Flexibility for on-call shifts is essential as you travel within the city.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and repair water shutoffs and hydrants

• Maintain wastewater collection infrastructure

• Ensure water quality through systematic monitoring

• Handle inquiries and service requests regarding water

• Adhere to city policies and environmental regulations

Requirements:

• Environmental Studies diploma or similar qualification

• At least three years of relevant operational experience

•

Certifications:

Class III and IV, as required

• Proficiency in SCADA/PLC operations

• Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License necessary
