What we need you to bring.
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Engineer – Noise and Vibration to support the development, certification, and production of our next‑generation aircraft program. The Noise and Vibration Engineer will be responsible for analysing, predicting, testing, and mitigating aircraft noise and vibration characteristics to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, passenger comfort objectives, and system reliability goals.
This role works closely with Aerodynamics, Structures, Powerplant, Systems, Flight Sciences, Cabin Interiors, Flight Test, and Certification teams to develop aircraft‑level acoustic and vibration solutions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in improving aircraft comfort, reducing environmental noise impacts, and ensuring structural integrity throughout the aircraft operating envelope.
Your Day-to-Day- Develop and maintain aircraft noise and vibration models throughout the design lifecycle.
- Perform analyses of:
- Structural vibration
- Cabin noise
- Engine‑induced vibration
- Propeller and rotor noise
- Aeroacoustic noise sources
- Airframe vibration characteristics
- Mechanical system vibration
- Predict noise and vibration levels using analytical and numerical methods.
- Support development of vibration isolation systems, damping treatments, and noise reduction solutions.
- Assess the effects of cabin layouts, equipment installations, and system configurations on passenger comfort.
- Support trade studies to optimize aircraft acoustic and vibration performance.
- Develop and execute ground and flight test plans to measure aircraft noise and vibration performance.
- Instrument aircraft and test articles with accelerometers, microphones, pressure sensors, and other measurement systems.
- Support compliance activities related to aircraft noise and vibration requirements.
- Drive the continuous improvement of our processes to increase safety and efficiency.
The ideal candidates are likely to have the following experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Acoustics Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in noise, vibration, structural dynamics, aeroacoustics, NVH, or aircraft development.
- Strong understanding of vibration theory, acoustics, and structural dynamics.
- Experience with analytical and experimental vibration testing techniques.
- Experience in rotorcraft, eVTOL, or unmanned aircraft development programs would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of aircraft noise certification requirements and environmental regulations, e.g. FAR Part 36 Noise Standards and DO-160 Environmental Conditions.
As part of the team, you will tackle challenges and deliver something that has never been done before. The team is currently full of multi‑skilled individuals. Come join our growing team in Montreal! You will be one of the first specialist engineers to join us, which provides significant latitude in developing our working methods alongside needs of developing the platform.
