Water Distribution Collection Operator

Operate municipal water and wastewater systems in a permanent full-time position with SCADA/PLC experience and process-control responsibilities in Kawartha Lakes.
The Plant Operator supports Distribution and Collection operations for the City of Kawartha Lakes. Responsibilities include maintaining infrastructure, monitoring treatment facilities, and responding to water quality and wastewater concerns. The position requires regulatory knowledge, accurate records, and communication with supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and maintain water distribution and wastewater collection systems
- Repair hydrants, valves, meters, mains, and related infrastructure
- Monitor treatment alarms, trends, events, and process controls
- Inspect and repair pumps, filters, ultraviolet systems, and chemical equipment
- Respond to leaks, backups, complaints, and water quality enquiries
- Post-secondary diploma in Environmental Studies or related field
- Minimum three years operating water and wastewater systems
- Class III Distribution and Collection certification
- Class IV Water Treatment certification and willingness to upgrade
- SCADA/PLC experience, data entry, and valid Ontario Class G licence
