Water Plant Operator

Position: Water Plant Operator in Kawartha Lakes
Become a key player as a Water Plant Operator with the City of Kawartha Lakes. Oversee and maintain vital water distribution and treatment systems in this full-time, temporary role.

This temporary full-time position requires a dedicated individual with at least three years of experience in water treatment and wastewater systems. You will ensure compliance with all applicable legislation while performing maintenance, repair, and inspections. Be prepared to travel across the city, providing vital services and responding to customer inquiries about water quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain water distribution and treatment systems

• Perform repairs and installations of water distribution infrastructure

• Inspect service connections and commission new water mains

• Monitor water quality, perform testing, and address customer concerns

• Maintain accurate records and communicate findings with the Supervisor

Requirements:

• Post-secondary diploma in Environmental Studies or related field

• Minimum three years as an operator in the relevant fields

• Valid Class III and IV certifications; additional certifications preferred

• SCADA/PLC systems experience required

• Ontario Class G Driver’s Licence with acceptable record
