Living Water Clinic-Clinica Agua Viva is looking for a Medical Scribe to join our team. As a Medical Scribe, your main responsibility will be to assist healthcare providers by accurately documenting patient encounters and managing medical records. We need someone who pays close attention to detail, communicates effectively, and brings at least one year of relevant experience to the role.
Responsibilities- Record patient encounters and medical histories as directed by healthcare providers.
- Use electronic medical record (EMR) systems to organize and maintain medical records.
- Ensure coding and documentation are completed correctly for insurance purposes.
- Work closely with healthcare providers during and after examinations to gather necessary information.
- Prepare medical charts for appointments and follow-ups.
- Help healthcare providers access and review patient test results, reports, and records.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
- Coordinate with the billing department to submit accurate medical claims.
- Stay updated on medical terminology, procedures, and coding practices.
- Provide administrative support to healthcare providers when needed.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting (medical scribe or similar role).
- Understanding of medical terminology and coding.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of medical regulations and patient privacy laws (HIPAA).
- Willingness and ability to rotate to other clinic locations as needed.
- Professional and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work well in a healthcare team.
- Respect for patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Willingness to learn and grow in the role.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Comfortable using computer applications and technology.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods and use a computer.
- Good hearing and clear verbal communication skills.
