Base Pay Range

$27.00/hr - $34.00/hr

LHH is partnering with a nonprofit organization in Linthicum, Maryland, to bring on an experienced Program Specialist. This role follows a hybrid schedule and offers an hourly pay range of $27–$34 based on experience. It is an ongoing temporary position with the potential to convert to a permanent role, offering a salary range of $60,000–$70,000. The position serves in a primarily supportive role within a research-focused office, assisting with initiatives and programs related to research grants, investigator support, and research education.

Responsibilities include providing administrative, organizational, and operational support to managers, coordinators, directors, and cross-functional team members, contributing to grant administration, professional development activities, meetings, events, and program evaluation, and assisting with financial documentation and internal governance activities as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial compliance checks for grant applications
  • Compile and organize submission data and award topic areas
  • Assist with grant review processes and reviewer materials
  • Update application statuses in grant management systems
  • Track funded and non-funded applications
  • Collect and organize progress and final reports from awardees
  • Monitor overdue reports and follow up with participants
  • Assist with grant outcomes analysis and reporting
  • Support research-related committees and working groups
  • Draft, edit, and finalize meeting minutes and documentation
  • Assist with policy and procedure documentation updates
  • Assist with research education initiatives, workshops, and symposia
  • Support innovation-focused programs and application processes
  • Help prepare for annual meetings and special events
  • Assist with meeting logistics, materials, and on-site preparation
  • Prepare payment and reimbursement request forms with required documentation
  • Submit approved requests to finance/accounts payable
  • Maintain tracking sheets, databases, and award records
  • Assist with internal or external research-related articles and content
  • Prepare outlines and draft materials for leadership review
  • Printing, binder creation, and material preparation
  • Inventory management and ordering of supplies
  • Organize and maintain shared work spaces and storage areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience in research or health-related fields a plus
  • Willingness to attend occasional evening meetings and limited weekend events
  • Experience in research administration or grants management preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Effective time management in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism
  • Adaptable, trustworthy, and receptive to direction
  • Advanced proficiency with office productivity software
  • Ability to prioritize competing projects and deadlines
  • Awareness of financial processes and stewardship
  • Experience with online survey tools preferred
