An organization within Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems Sector, Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA) is a leading innovator in advanced microelectronics design and fabrication. MDA is seeking an Analog Modeling and Simulation Engineer Level 3/4. This position is located at the Linthicum, MD location.
Tasks- Apply your skills as design engineer while learning about superconducting technology including NG’s patented Reciprocal Quantum Logic (RQL).
- Invent new circuit solutions and topologies utilizing superconducting Josephson Junction (JJ) devices.
- Design, layout and verify custom integrated circuits in NG superconducting technologies.
- Work with high-frequency simulation and Multiphysics software tools such as ANSYS (HFSS/Maxwell3D), ADS (Momentum), COMSOL, etc.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, product owners, and other team members to develop, document, and propagate best practices.
- Develop execution plans and advocate for the implementation of tools for emerging simulation needs.
This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications (Level3)
- Bachelor of Science STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) degree with 5 years of experience in RF, Analog, or Mixed Signal Circuit design; or Master of Science STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) degree with 3 years of experience in RF, Analog, or Mixed Signal Circuit design
- Proficiency with Cadence Virtuoso or similar IC design software
- Working knowledge of the IC design flow including schematic capture, simulation, and layout.
- Strong understanding of RF network and resonator transmission line theory.
- Understanding of fundamental principles of finite elemental analysis.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in simulation tool development, verification, and loop closure comparison to test results.
- US Citizenship Required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance (US Citizenship is a requirement for this).
