The Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an exceptionally talented, motivated, and creative Semiconductor RF Test Engineer for our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) located outside of Baltimore, Maryland. The ATL semiconductor foundry supports a range of production microelectronic devices including Silicon, Silicon Germanium, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, Silicon Carbide, and Carbon Nanotubes, and provides leading‑edge technology development in superconducting electronics.

Our devices enable Northrop Grumman’s ground‑based radars, avionic radars, and space systems. We offer a chance to work with an experienced team on challenging R&D and new programs targeting future military platforms. The multidisciplinary foundry team handles all aspects of semiconductor technology, including design, mask making, wafer fabrication, test, and assembly. Candidates must be strong team participants with excellent communication skills, resourcefulness, and a solid understanding of semiconductor technology and microelectronic manufacturing test methodologies.

The Semiconductor/RF Test Engineer will support development and execution of RF MMIC and SOC test for multiple technologies including GaAs/GaN/SiGe. The Test Engineer will be responsible for understanding the test requirements, documenting the test plan, and developing the software and hardware solutions necessary. Administrative and technical responsibilities include test software and hardware development, daily and forward‑looking test scheduling, test data integrity, equipment/software improvements, and supporting procurement of both expense and capital test equipment.

Additional responsibilities include ensuring configuration control of test software and hardware, maintaining test quality, test documentation quality, test equipment calibration, and compliance with customer documents such as Source Control Documents. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Basic Qualifications for RF Test Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or any related STEM degree with 2 years related experience, or a Master’s degree with no experience.
  • RF Test Experience.
  • Software skills in a modern language such as C#, Python, C++ or Java.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications for Principal RF Test Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or any related STEM degree with 5 years related experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience, or a PhD with 1 year experience.
  • RF Test Experience.
  • Software skills in a modern language such as C#, Python, C++ or Java.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous internship/co‑op or other work experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and professional/community/extracurricular activities.
  • Experience making mixed signal measurements.
  • Experience with wafer or die testing.

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600 – $131,400. Secondary Level Salary Range: $108,800 – $163,200.
