You’ll Get To Do
IPT-level role, member of SW Design Team. This role focuses on embedded software design and works at the segment/IPT level of an extremely complex system comprised of multiple segments, all of which incorporate mature and emerging technologies. This engineer will support the software design team lead and partner with other engineering functions to progress and mature the segment, and support critical engineering reviews and milestones (e.g. SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR).
This position will serve on-site in the greater Baltimore, MD area. This requisition may be filled as a Principal Embedded Software Design Engineer or Senior Principal Embedded Software Design Engineer. This position is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining the necessary US Government security clearance per customers’ requirements.
- Basic Qualifications for Principal Embedded Software Design Engineer
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with at least 5 years of experience; 3 years with Master’s Degree; OR 1 year with a PhD.
- Proficiency in working with real-time embedded software.
- Experience implementing requirements & interface definitions in software, performing code and unit testing.
- Understanding of software design principles, computer architecture, and relevant technologies.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong technical briefing skills.
- This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.
- Current Active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph prior to start.
- Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Embedded Software Design Engineer
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university with at least 8 years of experience; 6 years with Master’s Degree; OR 4 years with a PhD.
- Proficiency in working with real-time embedded software.
- Experience implementing requirements & interface definitions in software, performing code and unit testing.
- Understanding of software design principles, computer architecture, and relevant technologies.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong technical briefing skills.
- This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.

- Preferred Qualifications
- Current active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.
- Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance.

- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering languages (SysML/UML) and concepts.
