Part-Time HR & Payroll Administrator
Location:
Lisburn
Hours:
Approx. 16 hours per week. (Flexible to be discussed at interview, this role is on site) Salary: £15.00/ Hour (DOE) About the Role We are seeking an organised and adaptable Part-Time HR & Payroll Administrator to join our team. This brand-new role bridges a crucial gap across our Accounts and HR departments. The ideal candidate will confidently manage our end-to-end payroll, core HR administrative functions, and ensure strict compliance with statutory Northern Ireland employment requirements.
Because this position operates across two departments, you may on occasion also provide ad-hoc administrative support to our busy accounts office to help fulfil your weekly hours.
Key Responsibilities Oversee ongoing statutory workforce monitoring, maintain accurate registers, and prepare the annual monitoring return for the Process payroll, verify timesheets, calculate statutory deductions (including PAYE and National Insurance), and handle employee pay queries. Maintain accurate employee files, process starters/leavers, issue contracts, and ensure complete data confidentiality in line with GDPR. Place job ads, filter incoming CVs, coordinate interview schedules, and handle pre-employment background checks.
Oversee, log, and organise health & safety, compliance, and professional training for staff members. Provide cross-departmental administrative support to the accounts department during peak times, including data entry and basic bookkeeping tasks.
Skills & Qualifications Proven experience managing payroll systems and general HR administration. We currently use Sage Payroll, Giggrafter and Breathe HR. Experience or understanding of Northern Ireland Fair Employment legislation and ECNI monitoring requirements is highly desirable. A flexible mindset with the willingness to jump into accounts support when required. High accuracy rates in data entry, file handling, and calculations. A strong understanding of confidentiality regarding sensitive employee details and financial records.
Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word) and standard payroll software platforms including Sage. Please note that your application for this position will be treated as incomplete and cannot be processed until we receive your completed Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form. Upon submitting your initial application, you will receive an email containing an Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form document. You must complete this separate monitoring form and return it as instructed in the email to finalise your application.
Please note that we reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive a high volume of applications or if a suitable candidate is found. We also reserve the right to enhance the selection criteria if necessary. We encourage early applications to ensure consideration. For further information please click in the apply button below.
