Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head of School, the post-holder will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to lecturers and courses in the relevant curriculum area.

Essential Criteria

Hold GCSE English (Grade A‑C) / Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Communication; and GCSE Maths (Grade A‑C) / Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or NICATS Access Maths Modules.

Hold a University Degree in Counselling or a university degree with a minimum content of 50% in Counselling (applicants must detail the modules relating to counselling on the application). OR hold a Level 5 Counselling qualification or a Level 5 qualification with a minimum content of 50% in Counselling (applicants must demonstrate the qualification has 50% counselling content). This qualification should be at Level 5 or above on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) / National Qualifications Framework (NQF) for England and Northern Ireland.

Have 3 years relevant industrial, professional or business experience.

Have excellent administrative, planning and organisational skills.

Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.

Desirable Criteria

Have experience of teaching/training Counselling curriculum at Level 2 and above.

Demonstrate evidence of post‑qualifying practice as a counsellor.

Hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Further Education (PGCE) qualification.

Demonstrate competency in IT skills.
