We are seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer to design, develop, and maintain FPGA-based solutions for high-performance and mission-critical systems. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, contributing across the full development lifecycle from requirements capture through design, verification, and deployment. This role offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects using modern FPGA technologies in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and optimise FPGA architectures to meet system performance and reliability requirements
  • Develop FPGA code using VHDL and/or Verilog
  • Perform simulation, verification, and validation of FPGA designs
  • Debug and resolve issues at both FPGA and system level
  • Work closely with software, electronics, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration
  • Support hardware bring-up, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test reports
  • Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement of engineering processes
  • Proven experience in FPGA design and development
  • Strong proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog
  • Experience using FPGA tool chains such as Xilinx (Vivado) or Intel/Altera (Quartus)
  • Understanding of digital design principles, timing analysis, and constraints
  • Experience with verification and simulation tools
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based engineering environment
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces (e.g. Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I²C)
  • Exposure to embedded systems and hardware/software integration
  • Experience working in defence, aerospace, or safety-critical industries
  • Knowledge of DO-254 or similar standards
  • Experience supporting products through full lifecycle development
