FPGA Engineer

We are seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer to design, develop, and maintain FPGA-based solutions for high-performance and mission-critical systems. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, contributing across the full development lifecycle from requirements capture through design, verification, and deployment. • Design, implement, and optimise FPGA architectures to meet system performance and reliability requirements
• Develop FPGA code using VHDL and/or Verilog
• Perform simulation, verification, and validation of FPGA designs
• Debug and resolve issues at both FPGA and system level
• Work closely with software, electronics, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration
• Support hardware bring-up, testing, and troubleshooting
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test reports
• Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement of engineering processes
• Proven experience in FPGA design and development
• Strong proficiency in VHDL and/or Verilog
• Experience using FPGA tool chains such as Xilinx (Vivado) or Intel/Altera (Quartus)
• Understanding of digital design principles, timing analysis, and constraints
• Experience with verification and simulation tools
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based engineering environment
• Experience with high-speed interfaces (e.g. Ethernet, PCIe, SPI, I²C)
• Exposure to embedded systems and hardware/software integration
• Experience working in defence, aerospace, or safety-critical industries
• Knowledge of DO-254 or similar standards
• Experience supporting products through full lifecycle development
