EC&I Partners are looking for an EC&I Maintenance Technician to join our clients who are committed to accelerating the transition towards a carbon-neutral world. As an Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technician for our clients Gas Storage Assets, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our site in Northwich.

- Maintain, test and inspect plant equipment and control & instrumentation (C&I) systems to ensure safe and reliable operation of gas-storage facilities.
- Prepare and implement electrical/C&I isolations when maintenance or repairs are needed.
- Oversee specialist contractors when required, coordinating maintenance work safely and efficiently.
- Respond as part of the Emergency Response Team during site incidents.
- Investigate operational issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Work with scheduling team to plan maintenance activities, optimising downtime and resource use.
- Help train new staff and share operational knowledge to support team growth.
- Recognised time-served apprenticeship in Electrical or Control & Instrumentation.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within Oil/Gas/Chemical/Waste/Power Generation.
- HNC desirable.
- Compex 1-4 and experience with ATEX Inspections.
- Experience in testing and fault finding.
- Previous experience in calibrating pressure and temperature transmitters.
- DCS Experience.
- Desire to obtain HV Authorisation up to 33kv.
- Willingness to commit to on-call rota (because of site-based, 24/7 operations).
You’ll be contributing directly to the safe and efficient operation of critical gas-storage infrastructure helping support the transition to cleaner, more sustainable energy. The role offers both hands‑on technical work and opportunities to grow professionally.
