Mechanical Engineer

Vickerstock are proud to be working in partnership with a leading engineering and manufacturing business in their search for a Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to work on a diverse range of projects, supporting the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems within a dynamic environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and components, ensuring all work is completed in line with project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components for a range of engineering projects.
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of mechanical systems.
  • Conduct performance analysis and testing to ensure systems meet operational and safety standards.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including specifications, reports, and manuals.
  • Provide maintenance support and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure efficient operation.
  • Ensure all designs and installations comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including electrical and civil engineers.
  • Liaise directly with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical support.
  • Utilise engineering software including AutoCAD, Solid Works, ANSYS, and MATLAB for design and analysis activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes and systems.
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design and project execution.
  • Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, ANSYS, and MATLAB.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
