Product Development Engineer

Hays Engineering are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly successful Northern Ireland manufacturing business to recruit a Product Development Engineer / Design Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative company that designs and manufactures market-leading products supplied across the UK, Ireland and international markets. Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will play a key role in the development of new products, continuous improvement of existing designs, and the delivery of innovative engineering solutions from concept through to production.

The Role As a Product Development Engineer / Design Engineer, you will:
Design and develop new products from concept through to manufacture Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies and engineering drawings Work closely with production, procurement and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective

Support prototype development, testing and product validation activities Conduct product improvement projects to enhance performance, quality and efficiency Generate and maintain technical documentation, BOMs and design records Engage with suppliers and internal stakeholders throughout the product development process Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing functions What You'll Need Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering or a related discipline

Previous experience in a Product Development, Design Engineer or Mechanical Design role Strong 3D CAD experience (Solid Works preferred)
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product development methodologies Experience producing detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation Strong problem-solving skills and a practical engineering mindset
