About Your New Job as Electrical Design Engineer As the Electrical Design Engineer, you will lead the electrical aspects of MEP designs, collaborating closely with mechanical, BIM, and CDP teams.

You will oversee and lead project delivery from initial concept through detailed technical design stages, preparing calculations, schematics, specifications, and schedules. You will ensure designs meet client expectations and comply with British Standards, building regulations, environmental frameworks (Part L, BREEAM, LEED), and contractual obligations. You will participate in, and occasionally lead, design team meetings, technical workshops, and contribute to key project documents such as Engineering Reports and Basis of Design.

You will provide input during estimating, tendering, and value engineering as required. You will manage timelines, budgets, risk assessments, and client expectations. You will mentor junior engineers and support construction teams during project delivery. What Skills You Need as Design Engineer Degree in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering. 3 years experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within the building services industry.

Working knowledge of British Building Regulations, BS EN Standards, and CIBSE Guidance documents. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong technical understanding. Working knowledge and experience using AutoCAD. Proficiency with IT tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, engineering analysis, and calculation software.
