Overview
Deputy Care Home Manager
Location: Fallowfield, Manchester
Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £33,000 – £36,000 per annum
We are looking for an experienced Deputy Care Home Manager to join a purpose-built residential care setting in Manchester. The home provides high-quality care in a supportive environment for a small group of residents, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to take a leadership role in a close-knit team. This role is ideal for a senior care professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional care, leading teams, and maintaining compliance.
WorkingPattern
- 2 care shifts per week: 8:00am – 8:00pm; 8:00am – 3:00pm
- 2 supernumerary days per week: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- 1 full weekend per month
As Deputy Care Home Manager, you will support the home manager in the daily operations and help ensure excellent standards of care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring residents’ nutritional and hydration needs
- Supporting and delivering staff training
- Providing hands-on care when required
- Creating, reviewing, and managing risk assessments
- Ensuring policies and procedures are followed
- Covering for the manager when needed and reporting on events
- Promoting effective communication across teams and with residents and families
- Acting as a role model for professionalism, compassion, and excellent customer service
- Reporting maintenance issues and ensuring follow-up
- Conducting staff supervision and appraisals
- Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or at least 3 years’ experience in a senior or management role within a registered care setting
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and care standards, including:
- Health and Social Care Act 2009
- CQC Registration Regulations 2009
- Care Act 2014/2015
- Experience supporting day-to-day management of a care setting
- Passion for delivering high-quality care for older people
- Confident using IT systems, email, and digital communication tools
- Strong leadership, relationship-building, and influencing skills
- Experience managing teams and staffing budgets
