Automation Test Engineer
Location:
Cheltenham/Gloucester – on site 5 days per week.

DXC’s platinum account has an opening for an Automation Test Engineer
. The successful candidate will work across multiple teams, be highly organised, and possess excellent problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail skills.
- Contribute to test planning, scheduling and management of test resources; lead formal test execution phases on larger projects.
- Define test cases and create integration, system and configuration test scripts and questionnaires from functional requirement documents.
- Maintain defect reports and update reports following regression testing.
- Adhere to and advocate established quality methodology and elevate issues as appropriate.
- Understand the functional design of software products/suites and underlying technologies to facilitate testware authoring, diagnose system issues and confirm that tests accurately address business functionality.
- Apply industry and functional area knowledge and relevant regulatory statutes to assess system component compliance with business specifications.
- Develop specified testing deliverables over the project lifecycle.
- Excellent organisation and time‑management skills.
- Effective analytical, planning and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient PC and business software skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with peers and clients.
- Ability to write detailed, step‑based narrative test materials and necessary testbed set‑up steps.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of varied operating environments:
Windows, Red Hat, Linux. - Exposure to cloud and virtualisation technologies: AWS, Azure, VMWare.
- Experience with configuration management, defect tracking, query tools, software productivity tools and templates for test scripts and trace matrices.
- Experience in software product testing and applicable regulatory statutes.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL/, Mongo
DB or other relevant databases.
